Is it IPsec compatible enough to accept a FreeS/WAN on the other end? If so, maybe the alleged native IPsec support coming into 2.5.x kernels will work too. See http://www.freeswan.org/ for more about FreeS/WAN itself, and some patches to merge it upwards.
