Hi,
I have an ATI Radeon 9700 (FireGL Mobility T2) in my Thinkpad R50p. I
use the Xfree86 from Sid and use the "ati" driver.
The ATI fglrx drivers are hopeless on a laptop as they do not support
suspend / resume. Unfortunately the open-source drivers do not (yet)
support 3d on the Radeon 9700.
In my case the LCD runs at 1600x1200, so I can't supply you with a
modeline for 1280x800, but have you looked at the "videogen" package?
This lets you generate arbitrary modelines for your config file.
Something like:
videogen -m=1280x800 -mdc=150 -mhf=80 -mvf=75
might give you something that you can then list as "1280x800" in the
"Screen" section for you.
I hope this is some help - good luck!
Regards,
Andrew McMillan.
