Hello Marcus, Thank you for correcting me. Being unintentionally old-fashioned, I had devfs in my kernel. Removed now, and an `apt-get install udev' instead. I assume it's as simple as that, confirmed partially by this: # ls -l /etc/rcS.d/ | grep "udev" lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 2005-01-08 13:43 S04udev -> ../init.d/udev lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 2005-01-08 13:43 S36udev-mtab -> ../init.d/udev-mtab Please correct me if I am wrong.
