Hi All I am new to debian (there is a surprise) I am trying it out after a few years with Fedora and Mandrake (or what ever they call it now).
I want to install Debian on my Sony Vaio VGN-S3HP, the only issue is the SATA. I cannot configure the BIOS to go into Native PATA mode unfortunately, I have spent a few hours googling but havent come up with any solution. My motherboard is a Intel 915 with the Intel SATA Controller 82801FMB (i think). I have also tried a net install but to no avail, any help would be greatfully recieved, as my only other choice is Kubuntu and I really wanted to try Debian. Daf
