I have run out of ideas on what to check. I have a laptop here (Pentium 120) that always has a packet loss when dialing into my isp. (External, serial port modem.) It runs potato. I have used the same modems (two of them), on a desktop, and the faster of the two, on another laptop running woody, with the same isp, same dial up number, with no problems whatsoever, so the problem cannot lie with the isp/modem/modem cable.
How can I diagnose this problem? Thanks, Hugo van der Merwe
