Do you know how to create a meta-package like task-gnome-desktop? It's just a package has only one purpose; to depend on a lot of other packages so that those packages get installed when you apt-get mypersonal-meta-package.
I don't know how to do this myself, but it seems you could merge a single package like this into a stock debian distribution with some work. -- Did you know that if you play a Windows 2000 cd backwards, you will hear the voice of Satan? That's nothing! If you play it forward, it'll install Windows 2000.
