I had problems getting the 9525DVD to work with woody and XFree4 as well. Specifically, it came up fine after it was installed, but after rebooting, I'd get a blank screen, and wouldn't be able to switch to console. I don't remember what fixed the problem precisely, but I beleive I had to comment out the "DPMS" entry from the monitor section (I have no idea what this does BTW) and remove the unix/:7100 FontPath line from the Files section. (This is after running dexter btw). I had no problems with the refresh rates (XFree4 detects the TFT?) but the ones I use are 46.9H x 75V. This s on a Twinhed powerslim600 w/ 800x600 screen.

I have one in my Toshiba 2595. Assuming that you are running Debian woody and that you have the proper packages installed (try task-x-window-system), all you need to do is run dexter to configure XFree 4.x. If that doesn't work then I would assume that the problem is with the screen itself. As for the question of these blue and white flashes on the screen to damage the laptop itself - I doubt it, but I don't know. Try generating your own conf file for XFree 4 first - if you still have trouble, contact me off-list and I will send you one with the refresh rates gutted out (you _have_ to get those right).
