I haven't tried woody yet because I think it uses XFree 4.x and the VMWare folks aren't supporting that yet. Besides, this is my production laptop we're talking about, so I'm just a little cautious... What I did to get sound working on my 8100 under stable was the following: 1. Download the kernel sources, build and install a custom kernel. (In my experience, the stock kernels contain all sorts of stuff I'll never need on my laptop.) 2. Download the latest ALSA sources, build and install drivers from there. 3. Read the excellent sound info at http://wtsupport.metatec.net/technotes/alsasound-tecra8100.html Good luck!
