I also have a Dell Latitude CPx. I'm running kernel 2.2.18 and I use the ALSA drivers and utilities (and the libraries, but I don't really use them). I simply followed the ALSA instructions and it works fine. I have the following lined added to my /etc/modules.conf :
## Alsa Sound alias char-major-116 snd alias snd-card-0 snd-card-maestro3 # OSS/Free alias char-major-14 soundcore alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss options snd snd_cards_limit=1 This should work just as well with kernel 2.4.x as long as you only enable sound in the kernel config. jc On Mon, Apr 16, 2001 at 10:28:26AM +1200, Nemir Shaker wrote: > Hi all > > I have 2.2r2 on my notebook, but have been unsuccessful in configuring > > the Maestro 3 sound hardware.
