I posted this to debian-user because I don't think it's laptop specific, but have no response - maybe someone here can help... I'm running potato on a Dell Latitude CPi D266XT
After upgrading to 2.2r3 I found that X would only start in 800x600 mode. I tried running XF86Setup again (maybe not the right way to go about fixing this?) and successfully got all the way through the setup until it started the Xserver with 1024x768 resolution and saved the config file. I then tried startx, and it didn't. What I got was: X: cannot read security setting from /etc/X11/Xserver _X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111 giving up. xinit: Connection refused (erron 111): unable to connect to X server xinit: No such process (erron 3): Server error /etc/X11/Xserver only has one entry - for the SVGA server. I tried as root with the same errors. Booting into Win2K gives me no problems. What am I doing wrong? Michael __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
