Thank you all for your replys but after looking at a number of sites, (Thanks Peter Cordes that site was a real help :-) I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to get the modem to work in linux. (Though I wouldn't mind if someone proves otherwise) It unfortunatly means I have to ask my friend to: a) get a new modem (one that is supported) or b) go back to micro$oft windoze :-(
I hope he picks option a but option b is more likely knowing him. (which is a pain after setting up the rest of linux OK) Daniel
