Hi,
I've got the same problem with my Asus laptop. It is a winmodem, integrated
on the sound chip. There are no linux drivers for this winmodem AFAIK. Too
bad as I would like to have a driver for it as much as you would.
Buon Natale.
René.

Hi all!
I'm searching for a way to get my ESS ES1989 Modem to work with Linux
2.4. I've heard there were binary drivers by ESS Tech. for 2.2, but (as
if I didn't expect this) they don't seem to work with 2.4.
I attached the output lspci -vv produces for the Modem and Audio Card.
Thanx for any support,
Ralf
