What I did notice with these drivers is that my soundcard (built-in in the same sis630 chipset, using 'trident' kernel driver) stops working as soon as the modules for the modem are loaded. The device files disappear (i'm using devfs) and unloading/reloading the trident module won't work untill i've unloaded the modem's modules again.
