Hi, IU've been using debian for about one year now on my desktop PC, and I just got a Gateway 400XL for college. I really want to put debian on it, however, I cannot seem to boot it from any rescue disks in order to install it. I'd really like to use woody or sarge, but I'll use whatever I can get to work... when booting, the boot process just stops here:
..... Floppy Drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M FDC 0 is a national semiconductor PC87306 md driver 0.36.6 MAX_MD_DEV=4, MAX_REAL=8 Any advice would be helpful... This error occurs when using the woody rescue disk which is the 2.2.20 kernel. Any help would be appreciated... I leave for college in 3 days and am in desperate need of debian!! --mattgerg
