there is a mailing list of Linux users on Presario 900: http://videl.ics.hawaii.edu/mailman/listinfo/linuxpresario900 The key to get linux running on this laptop is a newer kernel - 2.4.22 works fine or 2.4.21 with ACPI patch. You can also get started booting with 2.2.x kernel and then building a custom one. Fedor.
