Hi all. I'm have HP Omnibook 6000 which has three buttons on Synaptics touchpad, and middle button stopped working for me after upgrade to kernel 2.6.
After Googling a lot, I found some other users with same problem (among others on this list), but without clear solution. So, it was time to hack. It seems that current Synaptics driver (as in 2.6.5) doesn't produce any events for middle mouse button as produced by my touchpad (and probably others). Simple three line patch included fixes that. This patch is really useful to me and I hope it will be for other users also.
