Hmm, i guess that's some problem related to X or your WindowManager, though as X has been updated recently on unstable (am there too) to 6.9.0... maybe something got screwed up with that. Did you check /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /var/log/messages If X is locking your system you probably find information in the first, otherwise maybe in the 2. I assume you probably have to provide more information on this crash before someone can actually guess your Problem.
