My SMC2835W works like a charm without ndiswrapper, follow these steps: 1. install Debian (but Ubuntu may work as well) 2. install hotplug and a recent kernel (with CONFIG_PRISM54 = Y or M) 3. download the isl3890 firmware from http://prism54.org/fullmac.html (or extract it from the driver cd that came with the card) and save it as '/usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/isl3890' (no file extension) 4. modprobe prism54 (may not be needed) 5. insert card good luck! -- Joris
