Dear list, I am looking for the bell-sound on the console. In konsole (KDE terminal) a bell symbol is displayed, but no sound is played. The same in a text console (e.g. Alt+F2): no sound.
After looking on the web I checked the following: the appropriate kernel module pcspkr is loaded, sound card is recognized and configured via alsaconf and sound is working within kde. The kmix mixer doesn't show a volume control for pc speaker. System info: Debian Etch on a HP Compaq nx6310; audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01) Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.
