I have not tried Debian, but just for kicks, I tried the live Ubuntu CD (Intrepid Ibex) on my new Acer Aspire 5735Z, and it worked just fine, detecting all of my hardware normally. I am planning to install it to dual boot with the virus from Redmond.Rob Smith
