Admittedly I'm running Debian 7 (wheezy), but the here's the result of searching for firmware-atheros:
apt-cache policy firmware-atherosfirmware-atheros: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.36+wheezy.1 Version table: 0.36+wheezy.1 0 990 http://ftp.uwsg.indiana.edu/linux/debian/ wheezy/non-free amd64 Packages It seems to be a valid package, but not that it's non-free. You must have a line in /etc/apt/sources.list that includes non-free such as the following: deb http://ftp.uwsg.indiana.edu/linux/debian/ wheezy main contrib non-free non-free is the important part. The actual mirror you use doesn't really matter. - Ross From: Dave Horsfall <[email protected]> To: Debian Laptop Users <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, March 9, 2015 4:58 PM Subject: Re: Debian on Acer Aspire E15 On Mon, 9 Mar 2015, Bob Proulx wrote: > > 02:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc.
