I agree that it would be great to have a tool that does this, but it
doesn't fit the model and goals of lintian.  lintian is intended to be an
entirely self-contained (except for its dependencies) package checker that
doesn't depend on external data sources.

There are, however, a bunch of good ideas in the lintian BTS for checks
that a program without that constraint could make, so I'm tagging this
wontfix rather than closing it so that someone else can look at those
reports for inspiration.
