Package: lintian Version: 1.23.48 Followup-For: Bug #471263 Hi!
I'm the maintainer of "cjk", which produces binary files like latex-cjk-common and latex-cjk-chinese. The upstream author uses CWEB, a language that produces C and TeX documentation files through ctangle and cweave respectively. I used to leave the .c file, as it would be overwritten anyway when you would rebuild cjk. However, when I build it now, lintian produces a warning that the .c file appears in the diff.gz file, presuming that it is an extra patch that is not handled through dpatch (which I also use). To solve this issue, I remove the .c file during the cleaning target of debian/rules, clean the directory with "debuild clean", recreate the source with git-buildpackage and then rebuild the whole thing once or twice. I'm not sure if I've done the Right Thing(tm), but it seems to work regardless.
