Yeah, it sounds like an ideal candidate for an experimental tag. One thing I wasn't entirely clear on from a quick look at Tags.pm - are experimental tags intended to be declared as "Type: experimental" or as a "normal" tag with an "Experimental: yes" field? The comments describing %tags appear to suggest there might be a difference between a tag being experimental and it having a type of "experimental".
