As life would have it, Lintian can now process "3.0 (git)" and have been apparently able to do so since 2.5.11. This is currently an artefact of another change and not a deliberate choice to support "3.0 (git)" packages. Therefore, there are still some "quirks" (like a warning for the source containing a ".git" directory). If you are (still?) interested in 3.0 (git) support then please consider providing patches for: * Removing the false-positive for the .git dir in the source[1]. * A test case ensuring that 3.0 (git) support does not suffer regressions. ~Niels [1] dpkg-source creates the .git during unpack and Lintian "indexes" the unpacked source. Either checks/cruft.pm needs to know about this special case, or collection/index, should ignore the .git dir for 3.0 (git) source packages. My personally preference would be updating checks/cruft.pm. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
