It would be nice if lintian could automatically find the relevant .changes/.dsc/.deb files based on debian/{control,changelog}. This would make it easier to run lintian from a just-built source tree.
Have you tried running lintian without arguments? (See the "CHECKING LAST BUILD" section in the manual page for details.)
