Hi,
based on my post[0] and the suggestion by joeyh to I would
like to ask if it is possible to have a lintian test for
progams using needs=vc in their menu file. Checking if the
program is linked against svgalib or directfb should be
enough from what I see.

With menu files being deprecated, I am not sure it makes sense to
implement this any more.
