or

-localtime
with final quotation mark ??

stramge. how did you excately start qemu?
I used the Qemu installer, which allows me to drag and drop iso's and
.img files from anywhere and I ran it from WinXP, but here is the
command I used:
qemu.exe bios -m 512 -hda
"c:\qemu\debian-live-sid-i386-xfce-desktop.img -soundhw sb16
-localtime
