I have completed the first version of a project that may be of interest to this
group. Several modifications to casper were necessary--many of them have been
included in the latest version of casper in etch already.

The project is fully documented here:
http://wiki.flimzy.com/index.php/Debian_on_USB

In short, my project is a fully functional Debian system that boots from a USB
stick, runs from RAM-disk, but is also persistent. My target system will be a
set of high-availability Linux routers. But the project can lend itself to
quite a number of other applications as well.

It is my hope that my work will be useful to others, and perhaps that someone
will even take some of the things I've done and re-incorperate them into the
proper Debian live project. My 'moo' script might be logical to incorporate
into casper-snapshot, for instance.

Comments are welcome!
