I found that the USB target doesn't work so well if the loop-aes-utils package is installed on the build system, which is due to the fact that loop-aes-utils provides its own losetup that doesn't understand the '-f' switch. Would it make sense to check for the presence of /sbin/losetup.orig and use that instead of /sbin/losetup if it exists?
