The following command from checkroot.sh hung apparently forever during
boot, shortly after the "INIT" line, immediately after "activating
swap: done\n" was output:

        mount -n -o remount,rw,rw unionfs /

commented it out allowed future boots to continue as expected.

I'm assuming this doesn't happen for everyone else?  :)

How do I fix it (without manually munging the chroot/)?

I'm using grub, unstable, 2.6.22, live-initramfs.
