I actually did several tests and noticed that if the host system has the same 'flavor' as the custom kernel being installed in the live system, lh_chroot fails to install the custom kernel arguing that the modules already exist! (which is true but I don't see the problem!) Is this a desirable behavior? I just recompiled the same kernel with a different --append-to-version than the host kernel and everything worked again.
