Apart from being able to start from scratch, why do you prefer a separate wiki?
if wiki.debian.org would use ikiwiki (or any other wiki software that can use git as a storage backend), i'd happily use wiki.d.o.
over the time, wiki.d.o/DebianLive has become a unmaintained and unmaintainable mess of false and outdated information. being able to work with a vcs to manage the changes makes it possible to track of changes and update stuff, and it perfectly integrates in the existing workflow for all the other components with commit mails, commit notices, etc.
