Hey-

I downloaded the latest powerpc DVD version
(debian-live-60alpha1-powerpc-lxde-desktop.iso) I could find (twice, since
there was no checksum) and burned it twice as well, but the disk will not
boot properly in our PowerMac G5. The md5 sum on my copies is
fb51ac668ab182b4b4b4f08d3da6dc38 but that couldn't be verified. I hold down
the "c" key on bootup, and it "tries" to boot, then ejects the disk and
proceeds to boot off the hard drive. Does this mean that I got TWO bad
copies, or burns, or ???

My reason for doing this is that my wife has a mp3 player which isn't
well-supported, and doesn't allow communication with the Mac, but my Knoppix
sees it just fine. I'm assuming that it's the kernel that's really
different, and would like to make the Mac a dual-boot system, but if the
Live disk won't boot - well, she has enough things to handle without me
messing up her Mac!

Anybody got a hint?

Thanks for your time,
Krishna
