No. You said:

LB_TASKS="desktop laptop"

Instead you should have:

LB_TASKS="gnome-desktop desktop laptop"

(or lxde-desktop if that is your preference).

Since tasks accepts multiple values here in a text field (as you have
discovered) it *is* possible with the current web page design. You've
ignored the important point that you must say *which* desktop to use
(this differs from how debian-installer / tasksel handles this because
Live image builders are expected to know exactly which desktop they
want, whereas end users are not, so gnome is just used by default).
