Just an update on my question. The nvidia part was easy enough by fetching the nvidia-kernel-dkms package. So that dkms automatically builds the module for you. With the broadcom-sta driver, I don't know how to instruct module-assistant to compile the module...but I guess this isn't so important as the nvidia stuff.
