since 'iff' is a common abbrebviation for 'if and only if', i leave this
up to mika who originally wrote it.
If you look at it in context, it is almost certainly a typo. Also, from
an editorial standpoint, there's no good reason to use the more obscure
'iff' here, where 'if' will suffice to make the meaning clear.
The patch is good.
