Ok, since I ran out of room on the ram disk, I tried plugging in a 16 GB thumb
drive.   This mounted and was located at /media/scratch.  I invoked the lb
config and lb build from this directory but this broke too with the following
errors:

P: Running debootstrap...
/usr/sbin/debootstrap: 425: cannot create /media/scratch/chroot/test-dev-null:
Permission denied
E: Cannot install into target '/media/scratch/chroot' mounted with noexec or
nodev
P: Begin unmounting filesystems...

I'm not sure what to do here... I invoked the lb config and lb build scripts as
root using sudo so I thought permissions would not be an issue.  Can this be as
difficult as it seems?

Thanks in advance.
