1)It seems that cow partition is mounted ro. Thus any persistence file cannot be modified althought it is mounted. I do not know how to fix it, althought it is not always a bad idea to mount the cow ro to protect it.
2) Is the keyword "persistence" a good choice, as in the squeeze and previous versions, the keyword was "persistent".
