Finally find a way with hooks like this:
  dpkg --add-architecture i386
  apt-get update
  apt-get install <my_multiarch_apps>

i'll be adding bootstrap hooks into the next live-build version, which
would be the proper workaround to do this until we have though about
properly supporting multi-arch package lists in a more 'end-user magic'
way at some later point.
