I apologize for leaving this information out. I used the live-images
configuration from:
http://live.debian.net/manual/git/html/live-manual/managing-a-configuration.en.html#345
lb config --config git://live-systems.org/git/live-images.git
Upon closer inspection it looks like I used for the sources.list:
--archive-areas "main"
rather than:
--archive-areas "main contrib non-free".
...failed to include the quotes origainally.
