Hi, welcome to the list :) > If I could get hold of weeky testing builds "debian-testing-amd64-DVD-1.iso" > and following(2, etc.), Unfortunately, it does not work like that. The live team does *not* produce live images out of the official debian installation CD's/DVD's or any other media. The live team maintains the tools that allow you to build live systems based on/using the debian/debian-like archives. The live tools themselves are part of those debian archives: live-boot, live-config, live-build, live-manual, live-images and live-tools. > when installed onto an USB key with UnetBootini, I > see that all boot menu offers install options. > Good to know! So far debian live images didn't work fine with unetbootin. It is good news if they do now :) And of course you can include an installer in your live images if you wish to do so. > Where(=which URL) can I get live TESTING version, I do not want to install > it, I want to try and see. > As far as I know, the available live images are currently built by the debian-cd team. They are not, as of now, offering testing images but fortunately, you have several choices to choose from: Option number 1: Build the images yourself. Install live-build on your system and create a configuration with all the options and packages you wish to have installed on your live system. If you do not want to bother creating a configuration from scratch, you can use one of the configurations included in the live-images package. Option number 2: Visit the online builder and select "jessie" which is the current testing suite: http://cgi.build.live-systems.org/cgi-bin/live-build For both options, you can read the necessary documentation in a package called live-manual. > Thanks, > > Philippe Have fun, and good luck :) -- chals www.chalsattack.com [email protected] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
