Hello, we use the C4.5 decision tree learner from Weka for our microarray data analysis, that's why I am asking on this list - besides knowing many friendly people here. I am very confident that for Debian it would be most beneficial to have the package on board.
The package is on http://bioinformatics.pzr.uni-rostock.de/~moeller/debian/weka The main obstacle is that the GUI only compiles with AWT. Once this is all compiled, the gui-less machine learning classes work just fine with kaffe. The package is lintian clean and (from my point of view) adheres ot the Java Packaging Policy.
