Hello, just in case that somebody shares my interest, please check out my pacakges for BioJava (www.biojava.org), the Java DAS server (dazzle) and the Perl DAS client (www.biodas.org).
DAS stands for Distributed Annotation System. Environments like genome presentation project EnsEMBL (www.ensembl.org) understand the DAS servers as additional sources of input and also present themselves as such.
