I wonder if you could package the new version.

Sure.

If I am not mistaken Karsten
has introduced a new naming schema.

Well, it rather seems Karsten has invented new names without schema:

   http://www.gnumed.de/downloads/server/v9/

contains

        GNUmed-server.v9-3.exe 29-Jan-2009 21:50 920K
                        ^ ^^^
        GNUmed-server.v9.2.tgz 10-Feb-2009 13:57 543K
                        ^ ^^^
        GNUmed-server.v9.tgz 15-Jan-2009 10:08 542K

If there is a systematic way to detect new versions we can implement this
in our watch file which in turn will inform us about new versions.

the server package now needs to be named gnumed-server_0v9.3-foo.deb, right.

... if there is such a tarball I might be able to work on this.

Kind regards

           Andreas.
