AFAICT pyvtk does install itself in the python-support directory, but this is a case that python-support 0.90 handles fine. As for vtk itself, I wasn’t able to build it when conducting my tests because of #516756, but I have no reason to think there would be a problem regarding the python-support upgrade in it.
