Per http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=593710, "debian" isn't supposed to be a symlink. Meanwhile, it looks like all relevant tools already default to -rfakeroot, so running svn-buildpackage as is should work. -- Aaron M.
