ARAGORN detects and annotates tRNA and tmRNA genes in (longer) nucleotide sequences like published genome sequences. Aragorn employs heuristic algorithms to predict tRNA secondary structure, based on homology with recognized tRNA consensus sequences and ability to form a base-paired cloverleaf.
