So is mine (hoping I'll be able to make it next time!) I have been to Saint-Malo for a conference in spring 2012 and I can confirm it is really a very nice place. I was able to get there quite easily with Britair/Air France from Paris to Rennes and by train from there, as Olivier said. Certainly doable!
