Thanks Andreas for the news and great to see that a good contact was established. One of the main challenges for the NHSbuntu project will be to make sure that the NHSbuntus installed today will be upgraded when security support will be discontinued. The recent ransomware storm just highlighted how much critical infrastructures were running a completely outdated version of their operating system, in this case Windows. On our side we provide means to install latest software on old systems, but it is still challenge to provide old software on recent systems. It also goes against a lot of good practices that I do not have to remind here, but for more and more specialised software, far from the core of the system, it can respond to a demand and help our users to run in safer environments, by giving them an upgrade path for the components of their system that are the most likely to be attacked. Or maybe I have too much of an old-style point of view and the whole problem is to be solved with containerisation ? Well, that was my 2cent thoughts...
